Re: Closest card room to Atlanta?
Don't forget about SilverStar in Philadelphia, MS. Lots of Atlantans come there.

They are thinking about allowing poker in the casinos in the Creek Indian Tribe in Montgomery.

Re: Closest card room to Atlanta?
From what I can see, it looks like Tunica or thereabouts is a possibility. However, it seems like it's about an hour from the airport in Memphis. Correct?
I don't see me driving 350 to 400 miles for this trip. It's a little more than I would drive for a couple days of poker. If I am going to fly, it's about a 90-minute flight, but then I have about an hour's drive in front of me to get to the casino, don't I? Frankly, if I'm going to spend the money on a flight and deal with the airport and security, etc., I would just as soon make the 4-1/2 hour flight to Vegas. Am I missing something? Thanks for all the helpful advice. |

Re: Closest card room to Atlanta?
Lots of people don't have a problem making the drive...if you don't want to that's up to you of course.
The airport is only 30-35 minutes away from the Tunica casinos for what it's worth. If you are trying to map-quest it or something you should know that you would actually be going to Robinsonville, Mississippi (in Tunica county) which is where the casinos are. There's a town called Tunica about 20 minutes further south of the casinos so that may be throwing off your estimates. |

Re: Closest card room to Atlanta?
Well for some people road trips are fun... take a half day on Friday and hit the road at lunch, get to Tunica around dinner, grab a quick comp and eat. Play till 4 AM. Do I wish there was something closer? You bet... but 6-7 hours with 3 friends and a grand ole time for under 100 bucks for the weekend (35 roommate, split gas 4 ways) is a deal for me every day of the week.
