Re: Stars VIP = Cash???
[ QUOTE ]
yes. the $0.50 increments make a big difference. $31 pot on Party is raked $1.50 $39 pot on Stars is raked $1 At the 10/20 and 15/30 levels it's not going to really have an impact though. Almost all of your hands will be raked the max of $3 anyway. [/ QUOTE ] If I was playing 10/20 I would probably go for PP with ********, but since I'm not planning on being at 10/20 until late next year at the earliest, I'm making stars my primary site. I figure it's +EV over PP with unreliable and questionable extras. |

Here's an idea I have been working on: If you purchase the Dell gift certificate, then place an order and pay for part of your order with your Visa card, then return the order, you will get credited the full purchase amount on your Visa. [/ QUOTE ] you guys finally figured out how to launder money? |

Re: Stars VIP = Cash???
I found this interesting, here are the dollar values for 3 different prizes according to the FPP's required. (*note: I'm aware the dollar value increases as the prize value increases, but the EPT Monte Carlo trip seems like a rip-off)
Porsche - value: $59000 / 3 000 000 FPP. $/FPP: $0.0197 Dell Cert. - value: $2000 / 125 000 FPP $/FPP: $0.016 EPT Monte C. - value: ~$11900/ 1 000 000 FPP $/FPP: $0.0119 sooo, the Porsche ends up working out to about 25% rakeback [(83%hands>$20pot,$0.23rake/hand)@10/20 & 15/30 +] and should take about 2-3 years. Seems like an ok deal if you play high limits and a lot. I don't know the kind of taxes you would pay on the Porsche, if any, but that could be a factor in decreasing its value. |

Re: Stars VIP = Cash???
I think if you got the Porsche you'd have to pay taxes on it's retail worth (ouch), so it's actually less than 25% RB unless you REALLY wanted a Cayman S that you would have bought on your own, anyway.

RB doesnt depreciate 10% the moment you recieve it and up to 40% in the first year.

Re: Stars VIP = Cash???
You can use your frequent player points to purchase a complete [Monte Carlo] package, including the entry fee, six nights of hotel accommodations and $1,500 in spending money.
I believe the package is valued at $16,000. |

Re: Stars VIP = Cash???
Yes...monte Carlo is a $16k package.
So most (all??) of the other prizes are in the $0.016/FPP range almost exactly. I'm guessing the 6 nights hotel stay is a pretty pricey mandatory extra that is included in the package (along with the spending money)? because I was pretty sure it's just a $10k or $10.2k tourney but it is definitely a $16k total prize. |

Re: Stars VIP = Cash???
I just checked on this.
Monte Carlo package: Buy-in: $12.5k Hotel: 6 nights Spending: $1.5k total: $16k So you essentially HAVE to spend $2k for 6 nights at their hotel if you decided to purchase this package through Stars. |
