Default Post Flop Aggression--SSHE pp 96-97

I suspect that I'm not aggresive enough post flop--not calling and raising when I should with marginal made or drawing hands. I've read and studied SSHE, but still wonder if I'm too passive. For example, Miller advocates raising post flop with middle pair and Queen high backdoor flush draw. Why raise here?
Suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated.

I believe those raises are for protecting your hand.

Knowing the sorts of queen hands that Miller recommends raising with, you're probably talking about a pair of Ts or 9s on a jack-high board or something. Maybe you can fold another Q to clean up your outs, fold out the King backdoor flush if his other card missed the board, etc.

One thing to remember is poker is all about pot odds and equity. With the exact same cards, a raise may be incorrect in a 10 sb pot but correct in a larger pot.

I'd advise reading about this on his website - notedpokerauthority.com .

He goes into the logic of raising middle pair in his "Response to Jim Brier" article.

Too right - I read the whole lot again today.

After reading his 6max article, where he says " As of December, 2005, if you are already a winning player, and you play below $15-$30 on Party, you belong in 6-max games", I did exactly that tonight. That man knows what he is talking about .
