I'd make it $6 to go preflop.

Anyway, the way you played it, you gotta bet the turn. Your hand is susceptible to redraws. Don't let them draw out on you for free. Someone could easily have 2 diamonds in the hole (AdTd, KdTd, and even QdTd at these stakes). Are you going to fold when a 3rd diamond comes on the river? No, you are going to lose your stack. So don't let them draw for free when you have a potentially vulnerable hand. Bet $6 on the turn.

That sounds good.

Lead the turn for 2/3 pot. Do the same for the river.
