ATo always ridin my arse
Absolute $1/$2 8 handed
Hero is UTG+2 with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Preflop: 2 folds, Hero calls, 1 fold, MP2 raises, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls, Hero calls. (8 SB) Flop: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, BB bets, Hero calls, MP2 raises, SB folds, BB calls, Hero calls. (14 SB) First bet, I had BDFD (1.5), BDSD (1.5), and overcard (1.5) giving me 4.5 outs. This is a close call, but maybe with implied odds? Turn: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB bets, Hero calls, MP2 folds. (9 BB) River: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB bets, Hero raises, BB reraises, Hero folds. (14 BB) Awfully played? |

Re: ATo always ridin my arse
Eh, I just fold this flop, such thin value if any.
As for the river, why bother raising there? Just show down. |

Raise or fold preflop. I don't understand that river.

Re: ATo always ridin my arse
Personally, I'm not a big fan of ATo, especially from EP. I just fold this one pre-flop.
What can you really do with ATo? No flush possibilities, very limited straight possibilities as it's a 3-gap connector, and the T is a relatively weak kicker if you do spike TP... |

Re: ATo always ridin my arse
Preflop:
ATo sucks unless you can attack the blinds with it. Just fold. Flop: You have no implied odds if you're calling a bet with players still to act behind. Don't call so slim when someone might raise or is likely to raise behind you. Turn: Vaguely ok if you're just calling for the right reasons. If you're not sure whether you're ahead or behind, there's nothing wrong with calling and keeping in the overcards/underpair from the preflop raiser. If he has AK, you're in trouble either way. If the bettor has you beat you're in trouble either way. But if you have them beat then you should raise for value instead. Considering the flop action, I'd guess you're ahead when the Ace falls, so I would usually raise here. River: Awful. |

Re: ATo always ridin my arse
I would have played it like this:
Preflop I wouldnt open with ATo at UTG+1, I only play ATo in late position ( and even then I most of the time do it with a sigh knowing that I'll probably will regret it ). Flop: fold. Turn: Raise - if BB reraises, get out. River: Why raise here in the first place if you didnt raise on the turn? |

Preflop I wouldnt open with ATo at UTG+1 [/ QUOTE ] okay this isn't addressed to only you, but to everyone who said not to raise preflop. what is UTG+1? stop thinking about this, and think of how far off the button you are. it's 8 handed and there have been two folds. work your way back: bb, sb, button, co, hijack, me. this equates to it being folded to you in MP2 at a ten handed table. please raise. |
