Re: OOP v. cold-calling TAG
He has high cards, almost always. Bet.

Re: OOP v. cold-calling TAG
bet it. I'd say button's range is broadways (especially suited ones) or possibly like 55-99. There's a lot more broadways than mid pocket pairs in terms of combinations. A lot of tags love to float in with like JQs or whatever.
UTG's range is pretty wide. You could easily be ahead and don't want to give a free card or miss value. Furthermore, passive utg won't checkraise you very often and if button raises you'll have a pretty good idea where you're at. (if he raises his most likely hand is mid pocket pairs) |

Re: OOP v. cold-calling TAG
Agree, he has high cards most of the time KQ or AJ. The more his raise percentage differs from his VPIP the more likely he will be to cold call pairs, the more TAG the guy the more he usually knows to isolate with medium pairs or fold.
edit: just saw 27/15 stats for button and that's getting to where you will see more cold calling with pairs, but that's more just to keep in mind as a real possibility, as opposed to a 23/19 guy who is going to have pocket pairs here just about never. If the 23/19 guy pops you on the flop and he is anything but completely straightforward, I'd pretty much want to see a showdown barring broadway cards that miss you on turn and river. If your villain in this hand raises you on the flop you'll have to peel and make a tough choice. |

Re: OOP v. cold-calling TAG
I bet because I'm certainly going to call a bet and I'd rather keep the lead and give him and/or the UTG to fold and leave it HU. HU is worth another bullet on the turn. If he raises me on the flop, that tells me that I can pretty much fold the turn UI.

Re: OOP v. cold-calling TAG
Always default to a continuation three ways if you're not sure. You've got a really good chance of taking this one down UI on the turn if you bet here.

Re: OOP v. cold-calling TAG
I suspect my range is too wide. I can have as much as 88-66, AJs-ATs, KTs+, QJs, AJo, KQo here, probably 3-betting AJs+ and 99+, folding the rest. I know cold-calling is heavily poo-poo'ed, but does this meet the strict definition of "cold-calling", with a limper in? Because that limper (and that button) loosen me up alot.
