Opponent makes big AI
These are standard folds I assume?
13th hand of SnG. I've played 3 hands, 1st AA (took half stack but no SD), 3rd AA (reraised same 1st opponent, who pushed KJ, I win), 10th AK (UTG PFR w/ no callers). No read on opponent. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (8 handed) converter saw flop|saw showdown UTG+1 (t1520) MP1 (t1460) MP2 (t1270) CO (t1660) Hero (t3140) SB (t1590) BB (t1270) UTG (t1590) Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 5 folds, Hero raises to t90, SB calls t75, BB calls t60. PF, I felt people were starting to give me too much respect, so I raised this. Flop: (t270) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets t180, SB folds, BB raises to t1180, Hero folds. Why he raise so much? He was involved in a lot of pots, w/ mediocre hands, bluffing, making moves. Would that change anything? |

Re: Opponent makes big AI
I definitely wouldn't be playing this later in the middle stages of the tourney. However it's early, I have a huge chip stack, and I'm on the button. Would this be ok w/ A3s or T9s?

Re: Opponent makes big AI
This is a fold pf. It doesn't matter if you think everyone is respecting you right now, picking up the blinds is next to useless.

[/ QUOTE ] This argues for a fold more than a raise. [ QUOTE ] Would this be ok w/ A3s or T9s? [/ QUOTE ] No. Unless you're talking about some weird high buyin ($200+). If that's the case, I'm unfamiliar with the importance of stealing blinds this early. |

Re: Opponent makes big AI
i think this is a fold with no read. he is BB and it is possible he has a 7 but the key here is that you say you are getting too much respect, in which case it is less likely he is running a bluff. that said tho, you dont say what level this is but if it is $10 then i call here for sure.

Re: Opponent makes big AI
Fold pf, leave the steals for the later blind amounts, I like this better (but still not hugely) at 25/50 for instance.

Am I the only one who doesn't hate this? What buyin is this?
