Who makes $ playing poker?
Simple as that.
For the more specific questions regarding it.... Looking for a % for each question 1. The % of people who make $ online playing poker w/out R-back? 2. The % of people who make $ online playing poker w/ R-back? 3. The % of 2+2ers who make $ online playing poker w/out R-back? 4. The % of 2+2ers who make $ online playing poker w/ R-back? 5. The % of people who make more than 100K a yr online playing poker? Thank you all for your kind answers. I appreciate it. -Jared |

Re: Who makes $ playing poker?
i cannot offer much help to your questions, as i only really know my stats. but i've been thinking about this some...heres what i figure:
-THe distribution of ALL players results is probably close to a bell curve. (but take results per table hour, for multitablers) -The peak of this bell curve for *sng* is likely quite close to -9.1%roi. -If you picture a graph, drop in a vertical line at 0%(pre RB) I'm not going to state that all results are in fact bellcurve, only that it ought to be close, close enough to use the approximation) So rojo, I suspect that the first question could be answered by finding the % of playerpool to the right of this line (i think the term "sigma" getrs used...been a while, like how many SD's to the right is breakeven. THe for RB, just move the line left. For 2+2ers though, ????whothefuckknows? it must be >average, but havent the foggiest how much. Many have pladged to contibute their Nov/Dec results to make a v. large sample size, so we will have an answer by Xmas |

Re: Who makes $ playing poker?
10+1 sng. $110 entries, $100 prizes. -10/110 = -9.09%
so thats the average return. where is say it might not be "quite" that # is because perhaps there are more than 50% that do better, but a few big losers....then the peak of the bellcurve is not -9. and what i meant before might benifit from visual aid? This one is IQ, but 100IQ is the peak, equate that to -9.09%, and realte 115IQ to a 0% ROI....there are ~15% of the population above 115IQ |

Re: Who makes $ playing poker?
I make money playing poker and I could make 100k if I wasn't a complete idiot when it comes to money management. Since I moved back to 55s in the middle of October (when Party starting allowing 10 tables) I've played 825 SNGs with a ROI of 17.53% (incl. RB). I must be a complete jerkoff if I can't make 100k with these figures. I don't know I just can't put in 7-8 hour sessions like I used to. Is this a common problem? I've prob only played online for 18 mos. or so. Plus I get sidetracked and play too many damn MTTs. Those things are a money pit.
