Before Garrison Keillor, there was Jean Shepherd. Anybody remember Jean Shepherd's America shown on PBS? A Christmas Story in a landslide.

Do not watch this movie--you'll put your eye out.

I used to listen to Shephard every Weds. night on WOR when he was live from the Gaslight (I think it was the Gaslight). I would hate to see Shepherd rediscovered. If my wife found out why I refer to her family as the Bumpuses, it might mean trouble. Big trouble.

I'm off to the Orpheum for my free Gravy Boat. Later.
