This cracked me up. LMAO Funny.
I've thought the same thing many times.
This fact alone proves they are NOT the "Celebrities" some would want us to beleive.

Danny N., Antonio E., and a few others work on their apperance.
I think Moneymaker had a bit of a hollywood make over. Lost some weight, better hair cut etc. etc. But most of these guys with new found fame and fortune have not figured out they need to be more appealing to main stream america.

Phil H. is the one that surprises me. He had not gone out of his way to improve his TV appearance. And without TV, not near as many people would love / hate him.

I have to agree. I am shocked watching some of these nationally broadcast poker shows and seeing overweignt guys wearing the ubiquitous t-shirt and jeans. I hate Esfandieri and his rocks and rings gimmick, but damnit, at least he looks clean and fashionable. Is wearing a button down shirt and sport coat too much to ask? Shaving? Bathing?

I'm pretty sure Ferguson has tailored his image for TV. The cowboy hat is a definite addition to make him a name. Leibert has also undergone a major makeover from what she first appeared like. And perhaps the biggest makeover of all, Robert Williamson III.

Ferguson has had that look for at least 7 years. That means prior to the television era. Including the hat.

Did he have it when he won the WSOP? I saw an interview with him recently and the look is definitely a manufactured thing, it's not something he'd wear normally. Might have been before the TV era, but at least he among the group was very image aware and created a "brand" by creating an image.

i suppose, some of the old school guys like hellmuth, matusow started playing poker so they did not have to worry about how they looked, dressed, etc.
i dont know i just think dressing up to impress people is stupid.

Why hasn't someone added that Layne Flack should get his teeth fixed?
