Considering the board on the turn, I'm not sure what else he could have picked up other than a diamond draw here to. He's so passive that he has to have something solid to be raising your river. He either has a lower two pair (the only thing you're beating), set, or straight. 2 of the 3 you're losing to, but I think I call too since you did decide to value bet here (although I don't quite blame you considering his stats). Against any kind of solid player I check/call reasonable bet here.

Yeah, and this is something that NEEDS to be echoed here... you have to encourage this kind of play, even though it stings (luckily this wasn't a big pot). I always let them know what poker psychics they are for drawing to the hands they knew would hit.

Calling is the only option for the river as I see it. Full pot or even more on the flop and turn is something I'd consider against this fellow. |
