Keep em in or Knock em out?
My question is, do I raise this turn? I have a great draw but I may also have the best hand. Is it better to try and knock out opponents or to continue to draw cheaply? Or do I just raise the flop for value?
CO is a semi-LAG. Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) hand converter Preflop: Hero is Button with 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold</font>, MP calls, CO calls, Hero calls, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (5 SB) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)</font> SB checks, BB checks, MP bets</font>, CO calls, Hero calls, SB calls, BB folds. Re: Keep em in or Knock em out?
Definitely raise this flop for value. HUGE draw, obviously. You already got a bettor and a caller, raise it up.

rais turn for valu, i think you could rais the flop aswell to get more money [/ QUOTE ] The turn raise is tricky, because I would actually think that more than 75% of the time you are behind on this turn to a 3 or two pair or something. But you do have a monster draw so you might be break-even on the 75% you are behind because if 2 others call all the action that means you are getting 2:1 when you are behind (and if you're behind it seems likely you have close to a 33% chance to improve unless there is a higher flush draw or something) and the 25% you are ahead, well obviously you are getting your equity from that raise. All in all this is a tough turn raise though. If you think the 75% number is higher, or that are equity numbers when behind are different, or you don't think everyone will come along for the turn action, that would swing it from a raise to a call. |

Re: Keep em in or Knock em out?
Cap the flop for value if given the chance. If for some reason people randomly decide to fold to the cap, just take the freecard on the turn unimproved.
Also, with that turn you might have value in raising the turn with just 2 other guys in as well, but I'm not certain about this though, since there's a potential that some of your straight outs are no longer winning you the whole pot. |

Re: Keep em in or Knock em out?
Yep, Im raising the flop, capping with opportunity... The fact that you have the button and the chance to take a free card if you miss on the turn is a definite raise

Re: Keep em in or Knock em out?
Sorry, I meant MP is the semi-LAG (the bettor). Yeah, looking at this hand some more, I think the best play is to raise (and cap) the flop for value. For some reason I thought I was second to act (instead of 3rd) on both the flop and turn and that's why I was considering a raise to clear the field.

Re: Keep em in or Knock em out?
I like a flop raise...hand kind of plays differently from there. If CO hadn't called in front, I could see a call on the flop.

Re: Keep em in or Knock em out?
raise and reraise flop
(1) for value (2) might clean up overcard outs (3) may get free card on turn (4) disguises hand well |
