Re: Middle Pair OOP
10 cards in the deck beat you, assuming he doesnt have a bigger pocket pair. Dont always assume the worse . Bet the river. If you dont like betting, you can check-call, but if you check the river after betting for 2 rounds it makes them think you are giving up on a bluff, so as a result they bet here A LOT anyways.
Tons of these low limit donks have no idea how to play headsup in the blinds. Frequently their line has some or all of the following points: - bet when first to act on the flop - bet when checked to - bet if the opponent checked behind the previous round - chase undercards to the highcard on the board no matter what (ie Queen and King on board, people calling with 8-10 all the way to the river) - bluff bet paired board - bluff raise paired board - go to showdown with ace high - semi-bluff raise ace-high somewhere in the hand As a result, its often good to showdown a lot vs them. After a while, you wont be surprised to see them calling your river bet with queen high. |

Re: Middle Pair OOP
What's his postflop aggression and more important river agression? I might payoff the river without a passive read.
Should I be dumping it against an unknown and only payoff with an aggro read? |

Re: Middle Pair OOP
You should keep in mind that even some passives go bipolar and have berserker rage in the blinds

Re: Middle Pair OOP
I wouldn't fold the river because of the flush draw, 77, 66, or just some random trash pair.

Re: Middle Pair OOP
Why are you slowing down?
What makes you think you're beat? An ace would've raised the flop or turn most of the time (not all the time). BB is calling with anytwo preflop, and that includes lots of hands with a 2, 3 or 4. Bet/fold the river. |
