I am going to be going to Atlantic City on Friday afternoon (and evening), and was wondering what poker rooms you felt would provide the best 1-2 NL games in the afternoon, before some of the rooms begin to fill up a bit more.
Mman710, All of the casinos spread "good" $1-$2 no limit games. It depends what you want to experience while your playing poker. If you want a nice quaint feel, visit the House of Blues at the Showboat. If you want elegance, visit the Borgata. If you want good action filled games with wanna be Rounders types, go to the Taj Mahal. If you want to experience a card club environment go to the Trop. I would suggest visiting all of the card rooms to see what Atlantic City truly has to offer. Enjoy yourself and post a trip report. |

Thanks for the reply. I guess I didn't realize that all the rooms would likely have 1-2 games going, though it does make sense. I have been to the Tropicana, Taj Mahal, and Showboat before. I also played limit at Bally's, and I was at the Borgata, but the wait list was too long, so I left.
I will probably end up just going to the Tropicana, since that's probably my favorite card room. The Showboat room is nice, but for some reason, I've never liked playing in a half-full/empty room. The Tropicana is always pretty busy, and I like the atmosphere. I don't like the Taj Mahal as much, for many of the reasons a lot of other people criticize it. However, I've played there before, and don't really mind it. I will post a trip report after I get back. |

I played 1/2 NL at Caesar's Atlantic City Sunday morning at 1:00 A.M., and I was horrified how bad the play was. (And there was an eighty person list for the same game in Borgata). I would say there were twenty tables going, all low limit poker though (2/4 and 3/6 limit, 1/2 NL).
