Party NL$100. Opponent has stats of 37/6 after 49 hands...
Villain limps in MP, c/o limps, button limps, I raise to $7 with KK in the sb, bb folds, villain calls, c/o and button drop. Flop is T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet $15, he calls Turn is 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] What are you doing? Villain has $34 left and I cover. |

If you check and he goes all-in, would you fold? Push - if he have you beat, I can't see myself fold when he only have less than a potsize bet left. If he is on a straight draw, you can't let him draw cheap.

Well. Maybe no push, try to fish him in with $20 bet that will make him pot-committed anyway (if you think he have a weak hand).

Given stack sizes, Push.

I like a push here. Given his lack of agression, im guessing maybe TPTK... in which case... he got to call.

bleh he had AA. I didn't mind losing but once he called on that flop I just had a feeling he had me beat and I should c/f.

Well, that goes back to the age old AA vs KK problem. Its about 3% IIRC that he has it. Given his limp into the pot... there really wasnt much info available.

well i didnt mind losing as i mentioned before but i hate just having that gut feeling you're beat and not going with the read. If I went with every read I had I think I'd have at the very least 2 more buyins saved.

Thats not a great flop for KK. Sure it gives you a gutshot, but when someone calls 7xBB preflop QQ is a real possibility, so is JJ. Both of those hands are very ok with this flop. 884r is more of a great flop for KK imo.
Its unfortunate he had the only better hand than you preflop. You couldn't know that and given the stack sizes I think you just put him all in on the turn with a reasonably good chance that you have the best hand. Obv if its to 100bb stacks, you can bet 20 bucks on the turn and get away from the hand if you are re raised large. |
