I was in a standard wheelchair in Vegas my last trip, and had no problems. All the staff I encountered were very good about it. I don't know where you're going to be playing, but if you have a choice you'd want to play in a room with widely spaced tables. I played at Harrah's and it was fine. I was able to make do at Mirage, but the lower sections is really too jammed up for wheelchairs/scooters. They accomodated me, but I was lucky enough to have the game I wanted to play on the edge of the room.

Other times when I've seen players in wheelchairs, the staff has made every effort to accomodate them.

I would think you should be fine except possible for the occasional anger management poster child 40ish white guy that always has to take up way to much room at the table, presumably so he can spread his legs wide and make everyone think that his tiny penis is actually quite large.

According to the 1991 ADA any poker room is required to accomodate you. They are within rights to ask that you transfer to a manual wheelchair though.

I would assume the house has to provide the manual wheelchair if so?

I saw a girl on a scooter at the Aladdin and she never had a problem.

The Aladdin, GVR, and MGM have a TON of room in their respective poker rooms. But those are about the only 3 rooms with any space that I know of.

I would reccomend the MGM as well. There really is a lot of room between the tables, and the staff is extremly friendly and I'm sure will be accomidating. Also, I believe the MGM has a larger variety of games than the Aladdin.

If you want to play mid limit, then of Bellagio, Wynn, and Mirage, I think Wynn has the most room. It will probably still be tight though.

Yes. I doubt any casino/cardroom would do that though. It's just one of the snippets I remember from my HR classes.

On top of what Photoc just said.......

I've had more then one person tell me that The Orleans is VERY scooter friendly. I've even been at a table with more then one player on a scooter while at the Orleans.

Where ever you play, I hope it goes well and that you have a great time.

Best of Luck

Howard

I have never been to a poker room or casino that wouldnt bend over backwards for any player that wanted in on the action. For instance, Foxwoods gets a significant number of chair bound folk and although the room can get tight, they do a great job of sitting them at easily accessable tables. There are at least 2 dealers there that are chair bound too.

FWIW, its a federal crime for them to not accomodate you - on top of the fact that its just bad business. You are a player and any player means money - and if they have to move a table to help you out - they will.

Best of luck

There is a regular who is in one of those scooters where I play. Everyone accomidates her. Unfortunately, she is very mean and bitchy so it is hard to be too nice to her.

Oh come on, she is easy to be nice too, after all see is good for a couple of buy-ins per session. I love to see her at my 5-150 table, its like seeing someone bringing me $700 to put up with some bitching and whinning for a couple of hours.
