Re: Toothpaste Overdose possible
I thought the obvious warning on the toothpaste tube was sufficient to know this. But I probably became more aware of this after I had children -- it is typical to be advised to monitor their toothpaste use & access for this reason.
My tube says: "If you accidentally swallow more than used for brushing, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately." |

Re: Toothpaste Overdose possible
Read This: (from the link)
Expectations (prognosis): For fluoridated toothpastes -- If the patient survives for 48 hours, recovery is usually likely. For regular toothpastes -- Most non fluoridated toothpastes are relatively nontoxic. Recovery is very likely. --------------------------------------------------------- WTF? Why even take the chance? (especially with kids) Surely with todays advancements in technology, they can invent a subsitute for fluoride which strengthens teeth. It makes you wonder about whether some of those fluoride conspiracy theories actaully have any weight to them. (if any) |
