Celebrity Poker Showdown Finale on Now
I gotta go with Eddie from TILT here, he won it all on the show and at least knows how to play from that. He's gotta beat out Cheryl Hines, Kathy Najimy, Andrew Firestone, and the dad from 7th heaven.

Don't you know the nits hate this show?
I can enjoy it. I don't watch the poker shows looking for great strategic play. I watch it for casual entertainment. Besides, Phil Gordon does an excellent job. |

Eddie Cibrian and Stephen Collins are the only ones who have a clue. One of them will win barring some massive suckout.

Re: Celebrity Poker Showdown Finale on Now
I'm just disappointed that Jonny Fairplay didn't make it - would've loved seeing Eddie Cibrian get fed up and thrash him into a stain. In fact, I think the possibility of Jonny Fairplay getting beaten up is the only reason anyone would watch any show containing Jonny Fairplay.
So the next series of CPS has a million-dollar prize pool, and hopefully, slightly more famous/interesting celebrities. This series I was half expecting Dave Foley to shoot himself on camera (although I think he's actually been more funny since he decided he didn't care anymore). Dave Navarro and Penn Jilette, you've been missed. |

Re: Celebrity Poker Showdown Finale on Now
Heh Dave Foley totally half-asses his way through the show, he doesn't even pretend to be enthused anymore. In a way, it is funnier because I imagine Dave downing shots of bourbon before, during, and after shooting, wishing he could get a gig like Newsradio again.

Re: Celebrity Poker Showdown Finale on Now
I love his reactions to Phil Gordon. Phil gets excited and says something about a hand that is fairly basic poker. And clearly Dave's always thinking "yeah, no [censored] Phil, you don't have to yell in my ear," but has to pretend and acknowledge what Phil is saying. Definitely some good subtext there for the astute viewer.
It seemed that Cheryl had some clue how to play as well. Eddie played the strongest, but didn't properly adjust to a calling station. I thought Collins was weak tight and completely sucked in heads up. He got steamrolled. |
