Worst possible river, still easy value bet?
This hand was played by a friend.
Villian is very loose. (Not sure how aggressive he is.) Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, MP calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, BB calls, MP calls. Flop: (6 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, BB calls, MP calls. Turn: (4.50 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, BB folds, MP calls. River: (6.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, MP bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 8.50 BB I think the hand is fine except the river, he must value bet the river and then crycall if raised. My friend thinks that check and call is best on the river. Thoughts? |

Re: Worst possible river, still easy value bet?
Checking the river is terrible, you get called by lots of hands you beat when you bet but who check through when you check. I don't think calling a raise is a crying call either.

[/ QUOTE ] Perhaps not a crying call, but 3-betting would be bad and folding also bad. I think we are behind more often than not if we get raised on the river... but perhaps "crying call" is a too strong word in this situation |
