First shot at No limit....QQ
Hi, I have been a 3/6 SH limit player for about 3-4 months. I'm exploring NL for a variety of reasons.
***** Hand History for Game 2697485803 ***** $50 NL Texas Hold'em - Monday, September 12, 02:20:16 EDT 2005 Table Table 37025 (6 max) (Real Money) Seat 2 is the button Total number of players : 6 Seat 1: Ajypoker ( $59.16 ) Seat 2: burn01 ( $57.28 ) Seat 4: kimkat111 ( $72.63 ) Seat 5: maidenrox ( $167.97 ) Seat 6: ipokernewbie ( $10 ) Seat 3: bdmcg ( $34.20 ) bdmcg posts small blind [$0.25]. kimkat111 posts big blind [$0.50]. ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to bdmcg [ Qc Qs ] maidenrox folds. ipokernewbie folds. Ajypoker calls [$0.50]. burn01 folds. bdmcg raises [$2.75]. kimkat111 calls [$2.50]. Ajypoker calls [$2.50]. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 7s, Js, 4d ] bdmcg bets [$8]. kimkat111 calls [$8]. Ajypoker folds. ** Dealing Turn ** [ Th ] bdmcg is all-In. kimkat111 calls [$23.20]. ** Dealing River ** [ Tc ] RESULTS bdmcg shows [ Qc, Qs ] two pairs, queens and tens. kimkat111 shows [ Ts, Jc ] a full house, Tens full of jacks. kimkat111 wins $68.40 from the main pot with a full house, Tens full of jacks. Is this standard? Opponent was unknown as this was my 2nd orbit at table. I was completely lost when he flat called me on the flop. What do you typically put your opponent on here? I would think TP would raise. A flush\straight draw is obvious, but straight draw would only be a gutshot (not ruling it out). On the turn, I figured with my stack (small, yes I should've rebought but still experimenting, might move down not sure I can beat this game yet), that pushing was the best option. If I assume I'm ahead here is it better to bet like 1/2 the pot to commit opponent? I guess that's better on a safe board and I should be pushing on a board like this? Is this very standard? |

Re: First shot at No limit....QQ
The push on the turn isnt bad, considering the stack sizes.
If you both had full stacks, I would make it about $15 on the turn, and check-call the river. Ojo_Rojo |

Re: First shot at No limit....QQ
This is fine, you expect to be ahead very often on the turn. As it was, you had outs.
Villain is clearly a donk. Calling a big raise with JT and then calling a big flop bet with TP and 10 Kicker is not going to make villain rich. You got unlucky, c'est la vie. (I push the turn too, because villains most likely hands are Jx and flush draw). |
