Re: Why I love soccer.
I never have understood the appeal of this game, but obviously it must have more to it than the action on the field. The players are good athletes, but the game is difficult to appreciate for those who are new to it.
Provincialism plays a role in the popularity of any sport, maybe moreso in soccer than any other sport? |

Re: Why I love soccer.
REAL MADRID!!! The US of A is starting to take a lot of pride in their national team though. The atmosphere at the recent US v. Mexico world cup qualifer looked awesome. Its not like at the Home Depot center where half the crowd would be pulling for mexico. I guess that is why all the big CONCEAF(you know im talking about) games are all in northern states where is the majority is white.

[/ QUOTE ] I honestly don't understand how any sports fan could just view last may's Champions League Final as just "okay". I am a devoted Liverpool hater(man u fan) and hater of the italian way of football, but it was one of the greatest games that I have seen played. Now, you do seem willing to begin to be a fan. I ask where do you live right now. If you live in a major metropolitian area then you should be able to find bars that show games on the weekends. I recomend that you go to some of these bars on saturday mornings and watch the games with fans. If you have Fox Soccer Channel(formerly FoxSPortsWorld) you will be able to watch games almost any day of the week. When you go to berlin you can watch bundesliga games and I advise you attend some Hertha Berlin matches live. ALso be willing to travel to some away matches in Germany because that way you can see more of the country and also get to experience different stadiums |
