I didn't mind the music from the bar, either... didn't seem to notice it after a while... and I think the only time I did was that break-in for the times when they dance on the bar...

I was surprised a bit by the songs I heard on the main MGM floor while walking around, though.. e.g., John Mayer followed by Flaming Lips, followed by Nirvana...
