Re: 66 heads-up on pretty innocent flop.
In these types of boards in HU pots I have been using the c/r flop lead turn line. It has proved pretty effective lately. However here it looks like Villain is good enough to know you have a small pocket pair. And he doesn't seem at all scared that you might have a set, which on this board can scare some. I have seen players w/ similar stats c/c w/ AK on a board of K52 because of this. Granted, not everyone scares so easy but I think you have to release this one.

Re: 66 heads-up on pretty innocent flop.
I like a flop check/raise instead.
You're not against JJ often enough to fold the turn the way it played out though and consider also that you may win 3 more bets on the river if you're against AJ or AA. |

Re: 66 heads-up on pretty innocent flop.
With only a 5% pfr, his range of hands might be narrow enough that a flop fold is in order.
With a bit of a wider range, I think you can entertain the check/call, check/call, bet line. I agree with the others who say you can't fold the turn the way it played out. edit: check fold an Ace or K turn or river. --Rico |

[ QUOTE ] I think your line makes it clear you're beat and clear that you shouldn't fold the turn. Rob [/ QUOTE ] shouldn't fold the turn? ahem...? Sorry but I do not understand.... [/ QUOTE ] Look at the pot. Then look at your hand. Then look at the pot again, then look at the board. Therein lies the answer somewhere. Rob |

Yikers. Don't we wanna make him at least sweat a little bit before he catches his A or K (or other pair)? We aren't wa/wb here, he's got 6 full outs if we're behind. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, but the pot is small for one...so it is not criminal for 1 bet to go in on each street with no "attempt to get him to lay it down. Aside from check raising the turn, (or maybe donk betting the turn) , it is unlikely that AK is not going to the river anyway. If we check raise the flop, it is very likely that if the villain hold an overpair, he call the c/r and pop us on the turn. And, many aggressive players (perhaps his numbers don't bear this out, but it is hard to say) will 3-bet the flop with overs. So we can make some bad folds, even after putting in 1 BB in a smallish pot. The more weaker and more straightforward my opponent, the more I like a flop c/r. The better and more solid my opponent, the more I like a check/call, check/call, bet line. --Rico |

My bad. Those make it much closer. Implied odds make up for pot odds that are slightly short. I think a call is probably best.

Re: 66 heads-up on pretty innocent flop.
Bad fold on the turn. Need to call here -- 6 outs with enough pot odds -- and better implied odds -- I don't think you are getting much more than one bet on the river -- but you might.
