Helpful Books
I'm strictly a SNG player but would like to try get into limit cash games. If you look at all the pros, they seem to be consistently making their living from cash games, not tournaments. The highest I've ever played was 3/6 at the local cardroom when waiting for a tournament to start. I have about a $4k bankroll and would like to start 4-tabling the 5/10. However, I'm pretty sure my limit skills are mediocre. Can you guys recommend some good books to start me off? Thanks!

Re: Helpful Books
4-tabling the 5/10 is a sure way to get yourself broke quickly. You've got 400BB and no clue what you're doing in limit poker.
Start with SSH (Small Stakes Hold'em) and $2/4. Rob |

Re: Helpful Books
Thanks, I appreciate the response. What kind of bankroll would one need when 4-tabling a certain limit? I thought 400x BB would be enough - obviously I was wrong.
Also, Lee Jones' book "Winning Low Limit Hold 'em" - any good? Thanks again. |

I have SSHE but its a bit more complex so I stopped about halfway through and picked up WLLH. I think both books, WLLH and SSHE, are required reading if you want to seriously learn limit poker. After I know both of these books front to back, I'll be picking up Advanced Hold'em. GL. |

Re: Helpful Books
400bb is good for games where you're a winner.
it will be hard to figure out if you're a winner. but SNG players are always winners |

Re: Helpful Books
400BB is fine, but what he is saying is you should practice at a lower limit first and then when you feel comfortable with your skill, you can move to an appropriate level for your bankroll.

Thanks man. The SNG grind just isn't that much fun for me right now and I can't help but think you feel the same. Why else would ya be playing 3/6 when you can be making gazillions of dollars 12-tabling the 215s
