On my recent hands I:

A. Get a D!
and
B. Had Bad Luck, Bad Luck, Average Luck.

So, I'm running bad AND I play like [censored]. I can't imagine why I'm losing! <sob>

6)... use "File Mode", and select the file you just created with PokerGrader. If you did everything correctly, it should be a .gz file, which is anonymized and compressed (for security and fast uploads).

Hi PG: I got up to this point. In the "Select one or more hand history files to load" window, the "Types of Files" is "Hand History Files (*.txt) and I can't change it. Since the PGC file is a gz file, it doesn't see it, and I am therefore stuck here.

[/ QUOTE ]

You open up the .gz file on PokerGrader.com, not in PGC. Sorry about the confusion.

1) Go to pokergrader.com
2) Click [File Mode]
3) Click "Browse" and select the .gz file
4) Click "Get Report Card"

Has ANYBODY ever seen good luck? After putting in my last 20 sessions or so, I've seen good luck ONCE, average maybe 1/3 of the time and bad luck the other 2/3. Is anyone else noticing this pattern? Or am I just legitimately running that bad (which I guess is possible)?

Can someone explain how potential profit works? I didn't really get the big picture from the FAQ. If my real profit is much high than my potential profit, does that mean I've been bluffing well, and vice versa?

Potential Profit tries to establish the average value of every situation. So if you are above the potential profit, then you are either running luckier than average or you are using your skill to win more money than you should on average in that situation.

Likewise if you are below, you are either getting unlucky or you are playing badly. If you look at the "Profit from bluffing" and the luck statistics lower down on the page, it gives helpful hints as to what actually happened.

And again, it isn't an exact science, so dont base your entire poker career on it. It is just meant to be a guide.

I'm probably going to add support for additional rooms (PR,UB,FT) in PGC, which will then convert them into a format that PG will accept.

At the moment though, UB is not supported.

A question: Are these grades really accurate for 6-max hands? I put a recent -76BB night into PG (450 hands), after I had looked at the hands and determined that I had only made a couple of mistakes. PokerGrader gave me a lot of green checks, only a few red "X"s, a bunch of "bad luck" grades on the turn and river...and graded my overall play as a "C".

Most of the "good luck", as PG sees it, is in the form of good turn/river cards (read: suckouts). If one sees a lot of "good luck" in his or her PG printouts consistently, this says bad things about one's play, IMAO.
