Mike Caro\'s Guide To Super/System
Forgive me for asking a question that may have been asked before, but is Mike Caro's Guide to Doyle Brunson's Super/System a useful supplement or not? I know it's out of print, but I have found a copy available and didn't know if it was worth picking up or not.
And while we're at it, any other OOP poker books worth looking for? |

Re: Mike Caro\'s Guide To Super/System
If you can find "According to Doyle", in a used bookstore, I would buy it - it is a collectors item and OOP. The book was republished as "Poker Wisdom of a Champion". It's a fun read, and I actually did learn a lot of things that helped my NLHE game.

I thought Doyle's book was very entertaining, but I'm somewhat concerned that it is fictional and ghostwritten.

Re: Mike Caro\'s Guide To Super/System
I haven't read it, but its very difficult to put too much stock into Caro's writing. Mostly, it just seems that he is out to make a buck by any means necessary. All of his book descrptions (and a lot of the content) read like get rich quick pamphlets, and too much of his "research" is pseudo-scientific.
For an example, check out the parts in his book of tells when he tells you how much the tell is worth hourly. I truly wonder if he just made up those dollar amounts. |

This booklet is readily available at the Gambler's Book Club.
http://tinyurl.com/7kqja Can't vouch for it's quality though. I've browsed it several times but never actually bought it, so I cannot comment. |

Caro's guide to SS1 is very good and well worth buying. He expands on many concepts regarding both the games and bankroll management.

Re: Mike Caro\'s Guide To Super/System
I've read it, own it and found it moderately useful. It seemed to expound and emphasize certain points in Doyle's book. It struck me as more useful when I hadn't read like 20 other books.
