Default Re: Stud vs. HE : Online Profitability

2BB/Hr seems like the upper limit in a B&M casino at decent games. I averaged a little under this in my casino days. Now, I've heard that 45 hands/hr is about right for B&M? I average 64 hands/hr/table online.

This means that B&M I could get almost twice the BB/100 that I get online(even playing higher limits), but I can play almost 6x the hands/hr online.

I agree that $65 or so an hr seems to about be the max for lower-limit stud. Any 10/20 online guys want to brag?

As for the sitting out thing. I really don't do it that much, only when I have 2 or more complex hands going at once. And I'm such a tight-ass, it ain't that often. And even then I'm only sitting out for a hand or two. This doesn't break games, it's the guys who play one hand every 10 minutes to "save" thier seats that breaks tables, which seems to be more prevelant at 5/10 than 3/6. I don't do this. In total I probably sit-out less than the average player, especially with the catheter and the pizza guy delivering directly to my desk.

One of these days I might make a run at HE online and see what happens. But another advantage of Stud online is that the universe of players is small enough to usually know who you are up against. Especially when you're tracking stats on everyone...

My biggest swing was my last one which just prior to me taking my break and continued for a little bit after. The swing was around 200BB total between 5/10 and 10/20 and included NLHE and LHE as well.

I think I can only legitimatly say about half that was bad beats and the rest was being out played or just being a general tilt monkey. Of my downswing very little interms of money was at the 5/10 stud game the 10/20 stud and HE where at least 2/3 of it probably.

I feel like I may have been picking bad spots at the 10/20 and it was rare for me to think I was one of the top 2-3 players at the table like I tend to at the 5/10 game.

I would be happy to answer another questions you might have via PM or AIM sometime.

Theres a lot more money to be made in hold'em as far as online play is concerned. We have some of the best stud players on party on this forum, and yet their winrates are a fraction of what a decent multitabling hold'em player would make. Did I mention this is why I switched to all hold'em nowadays? Making $100/hr. playing 8-10 tables of 2-4 or 3-6 hold'em is very possible. I can almost assure you that there is no stud player on party that currently makes this. And if you have the talent to beat some of the big buy-in NL/PL Omaha or Hold'em games, well, you're going to be very wealthy if you put in the hours.

I forgot you play on party. I better revise what I said then. With the exception of grb and possibly beermoney, no stud player on party makes $100/hr.

I don't consider myself to be anything special at Holdem by any means, but I'm finding it not to be very difficult to make $85+ an hour 4tabling 5-10 6MX when you add in rakeback. I would be very suprised if I'm ever making this rate even when I'm playing 10-20 over a decent sample size. (Then again that just might be because of my play)

hah. I wasn't bragging! It seems to me that a full-timer playing the 20/40 tables (think percy6) or even better yet, 2 tables of stud8, could hit $100/hr pretty easily. Thats only 2.5BB/hr at 20/40 and 5 BB/hr in stud8.

If you're really hitting $100/hr on HE, then that's awesome! Congrats! But, doesn't 6-8 tables make you dizzy?
