Too reckless?
I have been playing on Eurobet for a month now, and noticed that 0.5/1 there is extremely tight (vpip 15 – 30 %). I think that this is because I play in European times (I normally stop playing at the same time that NYSE closes).
Anyway once and a while (not too often) I realise that I’m sitting in a table were players only seldom cold call. And when they do, they are extremely weak – tight and passive on the later streets. Here’s on example. The tables vpip was 17 %, and only two players had vpip more than 30 % after 30 hands (38 % and 47%). Eurobet 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (10 handed) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises, 5 folds, button calls, sb folds, bb calls. Flop: (6.50 SB) T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) bb checks, Hero bets, button folds, bb calls. Turn: (4.25 BB) 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, bb folds. Most of the time tables are more aggressive (but as tight) than this and then I of course try to play ABC – poker. But in tables like these I just bluff like hell. I raise preflop anything that I would call whit if there is only 1 caller before me or no callers at all (even from UTG). I bet basically every street against 1 – 2 opponents (unless there is need to slowplay or c/r) and if someone bets or raises I usually fold (depending of course; sometimes I actually hit the flop). I have played in games like these only about 100 hands so it’s hard to say if I’m winning or not. Do you think that, giving the right circumstances, this is + EV style to play? |

Re: Too reckless?
I don't know if it's correct, but I do the same thing when I get a particularly tight/passive .25/.50 table on PokerStars. I don't know if it makes me any money, but I don't think it loses much in any case, and it's so fun to watch them fold around to my UTG raise.
I tend to only do it once or twice as eventually someone gets annoyed and calls to see what I have. It's even more fun when I actually have something in that case. |

Re: Too reckless?
sure, but don't get carried away with it because it is pretty thin if you have an edge doing this at all. once in a while is okay, but it shouldn't be routine.
btw. eurobet is the same as party and i can't ever imagine the .50/1.00 being that tight. there's plenty of tables around to choose from. TABLE SELECTION wouldn't hurt. |

I bet that thay fold hands like AJs and AJo when i raise my J9s UTG It kind of amazes me how long i can keep it up (then again i might only raise 3 hands in on orbit, i'm not raising hands like J9o). If i play 3 orbits my abc - game, i can steal other 3 - orbits IF the table is suited for that kind of thing. but like Chris said the edge is prob. pretty thin if edge at all. [/ QUOTE ] i have chosen the tables that have the highest avarage pot and its normally 8 - 11 USD. Is there any other way to choose tables (cause this tactic has led to tables whit vpip 15 – 30 %)? So far table selection has led to me choosing tables from other casinos. But i do play some hands in eurobet also to clear the 25 USD bonus, so any advice whit table selection would be appriciated. |
