[ QUOTE ] Exile on Main Street- The Rolling Stones [/ QUOTE ] isn't this generally considered their best work?? [/ QUOTE ] But it's also the least mainstream of the four albums they released in the late 60s/early 70s |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The Beatles: Abbey Road > White Album > Sgt. Peppers > Rubber Soul || Revolver [/ QUOTE ] If this were reversed, I'd agree completely. [/ QUOTE ] I guess you had to be there. I was. [/ QUOTE ] Oh. Wait, I don't see your point. All old people share this distorted view? I'll ask my parents. [/ QUOTE ] Don't worry, you'll eventually acquire the abilty for rational thought; if you live long enough. Ask your parents, they'll back me up. |

Prince - Dirty Mind
While it's highly praised by critics and hard-core prince fans, most who know of Prince don't know this album... but they should. natedogg |

Gonna second OP's noms of Long After Dark and Tunnel Of Love. I think Long After Dark might be Petty's best record, and side B has more awesome unheard songs...The Same Old You is one of my favorite tunes ever... As a long time Petty fan I must say it is bitterly disappointing that, after seeing him live three times since '99, he has never done a Long After Dark Song live. Hard Promises is also incredible. Everybody has heard The Waiting and Woman in Love but who knows Kings Road and Something Big? BTW, if you Petty guys want to hear the album he never made check out The Pinetops- Above Ground and Vertical. I happened across these guys by chance and I swear to Christ this could have been old lost TP songs. |

Between The Buttons by The Rolling Stones. Yes it was heavily Beatle influenced but it's a fantastic and unique pop/rock record. The production and mixing is great. Charlie is hitting one of his many peaks and songs like Miss Amanda Jones are eternally listenable.
Also: Any album by the Kinks between 1965 and 1970 |

Oh, that reminds me of another great one: Blues Traveler - Travelers and Theives [/ QUOTE ] My favorite Blues Traveler album, the one I keep going back to. Four was definitely their most popular, and their first one has a good numer of fans. But, T&T is the best. It really sucked when Bobby died. |
