Well, how did it end? [/ QUOTE ] first of all, i want to say that if anyone else had posted this hand, i would have thought they were crazy and probably said so. second, playing this hand the way i did was the result of watching 50-60 previous hands, which no one else could see. so i realize that it's a difficult hand to discuss, that's why i said low poker content. he had QT no spades. now i expect to be flamed for being results-oriented, but this is the first time i've ever made a call like that and i'm not really as comfortable with it as i seem. maybe i made a mistake giving him credit for thinking about what i might have and what i will do and i just got lucky, and maybe i made a good read. i still think it's kind of a fun hand though. |

I felt my comment was meaningful, or I wouldn't have submitted.
Translation, bad play... The need to go much further than that, was lost on me. >TW< |

Re: gut check (goofy hand, low poker content)
You really need to think outside the box. Even on the forum, this hand looks like the villain is trying to push Hero off his hand. There is no way this guy has AA. If you want to contribute, it's not helpful just to say "this is a bad play" because it is non-ABC with no other discussion. Why don't you discuss hand ranges? To me, it looks clear that villain thinks he is behind. But that doesn't mean that this is a clear call. First of all, he might think he is behind because he has an unimproved ace. He also might think that he is behind because he has a small pocket pair which missed a set. Honestly, between those two possibilities, I think that it might be a bad call. But I think it's close.

Re: gut check (goofy hand, low poker content)
While this play certainly seems unorthdox, in perhaps a different place or a different time this could be described as a sick read.
