How to lose a poker tournament
Thank god this guy is done for the year. Either he seemed much closer to being an adequate poker player earlier in the year, or I was much much worse.

Re: How to lose a poker tournament
I loved his little snide comments (KQ with a King of spades anyone).
He tells how his table is bluff free, where everyon eis playing solid values only, and that he is losing chips b/c he is card dead. But thats alright, he will fix it, by calling with less than premium hands and never showing a single ounce of aggression, and always folding to the 2nd raise, no matter what! |

Re: How to lose a poker tournament
I found the article useful. You always hear how aggressive play pays off, and the article describes poker play that's entirely aggression-free. It is a great example of how passive play requires cards to win. He did nothing to set himself up to win pots. There were a few hands where he had no choice but to fold when he did, but had he been more aggressive earlier in the hand he would have had more options.
I feel for Harrington though, the author claims he studied Dan's books, but he certainly learned different strategies than I did. |
