Easy Money?
When browsing the standings for the WSOP today I noticed about 4 or 5 listings that stated "unavailable WSOP 2005", but placed in the money. Anyone know what this means? In the back of my mind I wondered if this was players who didn't show and were just blinded off, but yet still managed to cash thanks the the other push-a-holics who've been busted. Wouldn't that be great, pay your 10K, show up, don't enter a pot, and double or triple your money! I imagine I'm way off on this, any ideas what it means or did I inadvertently discover an effective strategy against some maniacs?

Re: Easy Money?
You are way off.
I'm guessing that "unavailable WSOP 2005" means the person hasn't filled out the form to get their money. Scroll down to this post on Card Player called: Information on Money Finishers. Players have to fill out a form to get their money after they bust out. They probably have a few days to do this, and who knows, there might even be a few people who don't care about that amount of money and don't want to give the casino/IRS their names; therefore those that haven't filled out a form and supplied names are listed as "unavailable." While that is a guess as to what WSOP 2005 unavailable means, I am 100% sure that your guess is wrong. (The big blind on the bubble was $2000.) |
