He bet, I checkraised, he called and my hand was good.
Hand history showed a remarkable 8-8 for him. lars |

Re: $30/60, AJo from the small blind.
this is an awful play before the flop. If they are so loose that you want to play that nonsense, you want to play heads up and have your AJ be the best showdown hand a large % of the time. If they are not this loose, you need to fold.
I like the river play of checking. You may end up looking at a 3 bet, but those are the breaks and you may chop or beat Axs 2 pair. If your opponent has any A, JK, KK or QQ, they will often bet the end here putting you on a J or worse. JQ and JT are more debatable, but these may also bet and are less likely. Dan Z. |

I noticed that it was 8-handed after I made that comment. I probably see a flop also, and I actually dont hate a cold call.

Re: $30/60, AJo from the small blind.
It looks like you are assuming he calls if you check raise? If he has QQ KK or even AQ he may fold to a check raise and you have only made one bet on the river anyway. I bet out.

Re: $30/60, AJo from the small blind.
How can you like a cold call? The BB is a good chance to call as well and then it is 3 handed. Really the ONLY flop you want to see is J high. Man, you got lucky. What if the flop is 58Q or 55T? Can you call a bet from the UTG? Not likely.

Yes they might bet the river but will they call a raise? Bet out and collect a bet from TT QQ KK or AK etc.
