Need help with this NL hand, how to play KK
I was playing a 2/5 blind NL game at the Wynn hotel. Fairly tight game, I was ready to leave. I have about 1400 in front of me.
Two limpers, I look down at KK, make it 35 to go. One cold called, the two limpers call. Flop is Qh 10c 2s First limper(bad, predictable player) bets 50. TAG calls. I make it 150 to go, player behind me cold calls, and the other to call as well. Turn is 7s First guy checks. TAG bets 400 into me. What do I do? He had about 1100 in the beginning of the hand. Guy behind me had about 400, the bad player about 1000. I know that I probably should have raised more on the flop. Thanks!!! |

With that line I'm guessing you have to lay it down. My first thoughts were raising it $250-300 straight on the flop, but then again I suck at NL.

Re: Need help with this NL hand, how to play KK
All you have is a pair against 3 other players that all called and over-called bet/raises, and one of the better ones is now betting hard into you. At least one of them knows what you have, and has it beat. Easy fold, I think.
And your flop raise is fine, I'd imagine. What's the normal open-raise for the table? 4-5BB is about the average that I have seen in SoCal. Kirk R. |

Re: Need help with this NL hand, how to play KK
This is what happened. I folded. The short stack called what I expected. The bad player folded. The agressor never showed his cards but said he was on a draw (straight and flush draw on the turn) The short stack turned over KQ for top pair to win the pot.
Now, was that a super move from the agressor? I thought not because he was very likely to get a call from the short stack. On the other hand he was getting great odds if he had what he said he had. |
