Super newbie player question
Hi all. This is my first time posting. I have a few beginner questions. First, I've only really been interested in poker (Hold'em) for about a month. I've been readding books and browsing web sites. I've also been playing on-line to get a feel for what it's like. My question is, how much of a difference is it to play on-line verses in a casino (besides to obvious of actually being there). I'm going to Vegas in a month and I'm thinking I would like to give it a try. What Should I expect? Can anyone recommend a place for a first time player to play in Vegas (Besides at YOUR table ) Thanks in advance for any help!

Same difference
"My question is, how much of a difference is it to play on-line versus in a casino ?"
Lotsa different. Has to do with one's demeanor and appearance. In real-life tables, you just can't pick your nose like you do in front of the computer! And you gotta dress a lot better, I mean your clothes can't look like you just got out of bed. Then you have people next to you, so you obviously smell nicer than when alone, as in fresh outta the shower. Finally, when you suffer a bad beat in real life, you don't get up and pound the table hard swearing your mouth off like you do online. Re: Super newbie player question
I reccomend you play at the Monte Carlo. They have very good 2-4 and 4-8 games there.

Play in Mirage or Bellagio
they have the best players to learn from otherwise,
for low limit I think Sahara have a 1/2 game?? But that was years ago when I was still learning in my midteens Downtown El Cortez have another very small game, think they still have that 1/2. Horseshoe have a 1-4-8. Email me for beginners holdem pack N_A_Weelnam@yahoo.co.uk |

Re: Play in Mirage or Bellagio
From a rake perspective, the Mirage and Bellagio are the worst places to play on the Strip. The rakes of their low-limit games are higher than any other room.

Re: Super newbie player question
You are going to be hopelessly intimidated and awkward. No avoiding that. Figure for your first 4 hour session you will play SQUEAKY TIGHT, say only group 1 and 2 hands, just so you can get your feat wet. Don't figure to win any money, but you shouldn't lose much either.
