First of all, find another game. Secondly, this is another situation where you will win a little pot or loose a big one. Why risk your chips with what is probably a small +EV situation when there are plenty of large +EV situations to come.

In limit poker, you make money by making every +EV decision possible, big or small. It's not like NL. It's also incredibly difficult to lose a big pot or only win a small one with a mid-pocket pair.

Really.... Flop comes 3,4,k rainbow or any other one with one overcard, how do you know where your at?
1. He bets, what do you do, if you raise and he folds you win a little pot
or
2. He bets, you raise and he reraises...Do you fold or call him down and lose a big pot.

In other situations, vs many callers, you could toss them if the flop misses and they are excellent to play.

This is a micro forum, and it's dangerous to give this kind of advice to beginning players who call too much.

You have to play poker after the flop, but you do have position and you will frequently have the best hand going into the flop. In addition, you will outflop a hand like AQ (two overs) more than two thirds of the time, and the times that you both hit the flop (you make a set and they make top pair) or you make a set versus an overpair you _will_ win big pots most likely.

Tough situations happen postflop, if you want to become a strong player you can't pass up small +EV situations just because the later parts of the hand are difficult to play.

[/ QUOTE ]In the land of $1/2 at Poker Stars, this seems to happen very often. Much respect is given to the EP raisers.

Start raising crap UTG. 89s, J8s, ATo. If they'll fold preflop, and fold the flop, let them.
