Re: Neteller debit card and ATM
[ QUOTE ]
Are you talking about transferring the $1000 from neteller to your normal debit card, or they charge you that to transfer it to the neteller debit card itself? Seems shady. [/ QUOTE ] To your neteller debit card! Yes it seems shady - and it indeed is! |

Re: Neteller debit card and ATM
I used my neteller in Spain last year and it was impossible to find an ATM that allowed more than 300$ withdraw. I had to make several transaction to get my money.
This of course meant paying a fee everytime. Also you have to remember that when you transfer from your Neteller account to your debit card, they convert your US$ into Canadian$ and charge a 1.9% comission. Then when you withdraw, they convert again to the currency you are cashing out and again charge 1.9% It's not that cheap.... |

Re: Neteller debit card and ATM
All that sounds crazy to me. Why not keep your money in a bank account and simply go to a bank in the U.S. and withdraw a large amount? Is there something difficult about this that I'm unaware of?
When I was in Germany last summer it was not so difficult to withdraw $1000 directly from my bank account from some random German bank; I just had to wait one business day and if you have to pay conversion rates anyway, why not do it once, at the bank? |

Re: Neteller debit card and ATM
... which is?
I can only think of a few criminal reasons and even then an amount like $5000 or $10,000 is minimal. |

[/ QUOTE ] Oh yes. Very. I just wanted to defend Neteller. They aren't the only ones robbing us. I used my card in Germany a couple of months ago and I got more money on the dollar than in Denmark, so it does matter. Danish banks are world champions in fees. |
