Re: Strange play of the day....
definetly looks like a misclick.
On a side note, what are you doing at a table shortstacked like that? |

Re: Strange play of the day....
I bought in for $75 and didn't do so hot. I decided to experiment with some of the shortstack situations I've been reading about rather than rebuy.

Re: Strange play of the day....
In hold em they say always have enough on the table cap every street, in stud I would say always have at least 15BB or so just in case you get lucky. You are losing a lot of value but not being able to raise when you make a scooping hand or a nut low against several highs etc. As you move up in limits it will be more and more important to be able to extract max value for all your hands as players get a little better (a lot will still suck anyways)

Re: Strange play of the day....
Nice coup, but next time fold fifth, especially since you don't have enough money in front of you to see your little charade through.
There is a mathematical advantage to being all-in, and this can make it advantageous in a one-way game. If you're in a good high-low stud game, though, and you play well, you're costing yourself too much by being short-stacked. You have a lot of opportunities to put people through the wringer, and since a good player will be the wring-or a lot more than he is the wring-ee, he is best advised to keep enough in front of him to jam every street if the need arises. |
