Default PT on Mac

I'm posting this thread because somebody PM'd me, but has his "receive mail" checked off. So this is for you or anybody else that has a Mac and is curious about PT for it.

I have a iMac G4 700 MHz, I wanted PT and also to play at other sites besides Pokerroom.
I went and purchased Virtual PC volume 7 w/ windows 2000 ($250.00), I also needed to add another 565 of memory ($150.00)
I am rather disapointed. It is VERY slow. It can not handle more than 2 tables at a time. The PT works fine but like I said it is very slow and takes a long time to download stats. I have not tried running GT+, I think it would be to much for it.

If your Mac is less than 700MHz, I would not reccomend it. I talked to the guy at the local apple store about upgrading to a G5. He told me it would be a little faster, but the problem is that Virtual PC is just a slow running program.

I plan on joining the darkside and buying a PC to use strictly for poker.

Hope this helps.

What kind of PC did you buy and what were the specs?

How does it work compared to Virtual PC?

PT on auto-rate is a no-go for VPC on my 1GHz/1GB Powerbook G4. But I can multi-table UB with no issues and updating my PT database in between playing sessions works fine. I am considering getting a Wintel machine for poker, though, sadly.
