AKo, is this too weak??
Villian just sat down, his first hand, so have no read. The cap on the flop really puzzled me. Appreciate any suggestion. Tks

I'd bet the river.

Re: AKo, is this too weak??
I'd bet this river after its checked to me. Villain could have gone overboard on the flop w/a weaker A. Had the river been a diamond and it been checked to me, I'd check behind.

Re: AKo, is this too weak??
yes, when deciding whether to check behind or bet a flop always think about how many hands it could have completed. If it's a card that completes a straight and a flush, then you should check, if its a complete brick then you are probably better of betting.
of course these are extreme situations, and sometimes its a lot closer then these two, however, i think thats what you want to think about when the situation arises. |

Re: AKo, is this too weak??
Anyone flat calling the flop raise to get one in on a non-diamond turn? I suspect there are good reasons not to do this, but I'm curious what people have to say about that option...

[/ QUOTE ] You would only do this if the pot was super large and multiway and you couldn't protect your hand on the flop with a raise. You would call the flop to incourage the bettor to bet into you allowing you to protect your hand on the turn. |

Gotcha... that's what I was thinking but wasn't 1000% sure.
