Friend Insists on $1/$2, What Should I Do?

Your friend sounds a lot like me. I didn't move up to 1/2 until my BR hit 3500. I'm still playing 1/2 with a 13k BR for a few reasons. For me, moving up has a lot to do with emotionally preparing yourself for the higher stakes, which is something I'm not ready for and this probably applies to your friend as well. Even with a large bankroll, something like a 200BB downswing or losing 7 buyins playing $25 PLO, like I did today, STILL hurts. Get him to log 10k-20k hands at 1/2 to build some confidence.
