AKo pf push lvl3
This is a 109. Would it be better to just make a smallish raise?

Re: AKo pf push lvl3
Yeah, raise it to 200 or so. Your stack is big enough relative to the blinds that you should be making a standard raise, rather than just pushing.

Re: AKo pf push lvl3
If I get called from utg only, there will be 475 in the pot, and I will have 650ish left... The way I see it, I'm committing myself if I want to do a continuation bet, and I'd hate to play AK without being able to do that.
Perhaps I could have made it 150? |

If there had been 3+ limpers already, then I love the push (aren't we calling this a "VanSexton" in honor of a PVS post not so long ago explaining how he get chips in level 3?). With only one limper, you should probably be raising about the size of the pot to get some action with your premium holding. 2 limpers is a gray-area (push or raise to about $250-$300). Further, if the UTG limper proceeds to push over the top of you when the action is back on him, I'd most likely fold (unhappily, but what can you do?), because my experience is that means AA or KK a lot of the time at the 109's. --Zen |
