Re: player is 14/9/4, huh?
First number = VPIP% (Voluntarily put $ in the pot)
Second number = PFR% (Pre-Flop Raise) Third number = Aggression Factor ( (Bets+Raises)/Calls) ) |

Re: player is 14/9/4, huh?
Anyone know a range for AF? What's an average AF?

Re: player is 14/9/4, huh?
An average AF of 2-3 w/o preflop calculated in is a good base for an aggressive opponent. Af is calculated by
(bet% + raise%)/call% So folding is not figured into this. Someone could have a high af and just be weak tight. |

Re: player is 14/9/4, huh?
So does the definition of AF strictly NOT include preflop action? IS there an AF-pre and AF-post?

Numbers you see on 2+2 are going to be without preflop action pretty much always. This is because you do a lot more limping preflop with the forced blind while you should be more likely to be betting and raising from the flop onward. |

Re: player is 14/9/4, huh?
Aggression before the flop is also pretty well handled by the PreFlop Raise stat, so including it elsewhere kind of muddies the waters.

Re: player is 14/9/4, huh?
So AF = 2.5 is fairly aggressive? What's the high end where you saying he's LAGGY and probably bluffing a lot? >3? >4? What's the highest you guys have seen via PT?
Just trying to get a feel for range here.. |

Just trying to get a feel for range here.. [/ QUOTE ] 2.5 is quite aggressive. If it hits 3 you've got someone who is betting and raising a lot of marginal hands and making some bluffs unless he's on a really great run of cards. This player is probably either really good or really bad and it is very important to figure out which. If their VP$IP is something like 16-24 then they're probably really good even if they are perhaps a little over-agressive. What this means is you need to be prepared to go all the way with your hand since this player is going to be betting their marginal hands and you won't be able to fold your top pair even if the board gets a little scary since your opponent is not likely to stop betting. When he doesn't have it you'll make extra money and unfortunately when he does you'll find yourself paying him off. But that's what aggressive players do. If the AF is anywhere close to 4 after you've recorded a lot of hands on the player I think you're looking at a maniac. I simply don't see how you can have an AF of 4 unless you are basically playing raise/fold. |
