Re: Controversy and Interesting Floor Decision at WPT Champ...
As afore mentioned, the location of a card game and the "house rules" of a specific casino or tournament are very important factors in understanding the decision. I'm sure McLelland has seen more of these controversial hands than just about any TD and has made this call before. You have to give the benefit of the doubt to a veteran like him.

At that point, the players at the table jumped out of their seats claiming his hand was dead, and Lawson should be awarded the entire pot. [/ QUOTE ] Dicks. |

that's my reaction.
If you can't win via skill, try to win by microscopic rule interpretation. |

Re: Controversy and Interesting Floor Decision at WPT Champ...
There are things you learn over time playing live.
If you have two cards at the end of a hand, and there is no bet, just turn them up in front of you, no place near the muck. End of story. Always ALWAYS protect your hand. I can never believe it when I see people sitting there in the middle of a hand with their cards in front of them, uncovered by a chip or a ceramic pig or something. This is simple. Think of it as cash. You don't leave it just laying around. If you're not in a hand, don't say anything unless you are asked for your observation. I know a lot of people disagree with this, but I'm sure it's a good rule to live by. This does not apply to cheating, which should always be pointed out, regardless. |

Poker is a 5-card game, not a 7-card game. The floor made the correct decision imho [/ QUOTE ] While I agree completely with this decision, I;m curious as to how does it get around the "you must have two cards two show" rule? I thought that was in place to prevents cheating, collusion, and angle shots. What if Schein had AsAs? |

Playing that isn't cheating, it's just stupid. |

Same thing if he bluffed with AsAs and won without a showdown.

[/ QUOTE ] By this logic, then you should show every losing hand you muck in the river, just in case you're playing AsAs. |
