I download Empire. I play for several hours. I close the application. Then, when I try to launch it again (either clicking on the icon, or going into the start/programs/Empire) the application will not load. I uninstall the software, reinstall it and again, it works fine initially, but once I close the application, it will not launch again.
I do modify my screen background (using one from chiplitre) but that shouldn't impact the ability of the program to open and close. Anyway, has anyone had this issue - if so what is the fix? Thanks. |

Try Ctrl-Alt-Delete, go to Processes and end the program from there.

I have no probelms closing the program. It closes normally. The next time I try to open the application, nothing happens when I click on the icon or go into Start/Programs/Empire.
Also, for what it's worth, after I uninstall, download and reinstall, I get a message from the Ghost installer saying that I need to reboot for the application to install fully. |

Oddly, since the Party upgrade Empire has been done this to me a couple times too, but either killing the program from Task Manager and trying again or rebooting has fixed it for me. |

the exact same problem suddenly happened to me yesterday. but when i had reinstalled the software (twice) and rebooted, it now works fine again. this problem happened to me after their upgrade.

CTRL-ALT-DELETE, and look for EmpirePoker.exe, close that and then you should be fine, it has worked for me when i've had the same problem recently

When you install the program, the installation is not completed until the computer is restarted. This happened to me with MultiPoker. In fact, there were no hand histories saved until I did the restart thing. Once I completed the installation this way, I had no problems.

[/ QUOTE ] You don't need to reinstall, you just need to reboot when it won't load. Apparently the new upgrade is not closing properly on some computers when you close Empire the normal way. |
