Re: In English Cardrooms......
I remeber in one of the WSOp think it was 2004 maybe T/J C. had a spat about this when someone said something about what they had which wasn't true but apparently the way he worded it didnt break any rules...Phil H and a couple of other players discussed it afterwards.

Re: Question about rules of poker
[ QUOTE ]
playing the other day on party poker heads-up, i bet the flop and got reraised, then I let most of my time run down and said "argh. ive got AK"... then reraised all-in with AA. the player called me a cheater and every other name in the book because i lied to him about what cards i was holding. are you not allowed to do that? [/ QUOTE ] My understanding is that telling your hand to another player is fine if your lying, but is collusion and illegal if there is another player in the pot and you are telling the truth. So lying is ok in some situations but telling the truth rarely is. Even party poker recognizes this and have taken action against several people who have said things like "I'm going to call I have AK..etc." (this is in SNGs) In cash games my understanding is that if the pot is heads up, anything goes. Live you can often flip your hand face is and have it still be 'im play'. |

Re: Question about rules of poker
Pretty sure you can talk about your hand all you want in a cash game. It's not allowed in tournaments, though.
