Re: NL in the \"Big Game\" How does that work?
[ QUOTE ]
Actually, the blind/ante structure is the same for all limit games and the same for all pot limit/no limit games. Barry Greenstein has the info at the bottom of the front page on his website. I would expect this to be common knowledge by now. [/ QUOTE ] So what's the damn truth about the antes? By saying that pot limit and no limit have the same structure, we are essentially saying there are no antes. I don't think anyone plays pot limit with antes. |

Re: NL in the \"Big Game\" How does that work?

See Dan N.'s latest blog [/ QUOTE ] That's not the "Big Game"---at least to my understanding. Dan N.'s latest blog entry is about live action at the Commerce in LA. The normal "Big Game" is at the Bellagio. According to this post, the game they played last night at the Commerce was a $1000/$2000 game with a $1000 ante. But, I've never read about that blind structure at the Bellagio game. I could be wrong though...... |

all the players are at the commerce for the tournament, so the big game gets moved there

Re: NL in the \"Big Game\" How does that work?
All the limit games are 4,000-8,000
No-limit Hold-em 1,000-2,000 w/1,000 antes Pot-limit Omaha 1,000-2,000 w/no ante The big game floats around to wherever the big tournaments are. It is just usually at the Bellagio. |

Re: NL in the \"Big Game\" How does that work?
the next time someone complains about losing a $50 pot on the river to a made gutshot, I'm posting a link to this:
"We both put $100,000 in on the flop and Chan caught an 8 on the river for a gut shot straight. That had me down about $130,000 early." |

Re: NL in the \"Big Game\" How does that work?
My understanding is that the "Big Game" is where they're at. They just usually play in Vegas. When the Tunica tourney was going on C Giang, Ivey, Brunson, his son, Gus and Barry were playing the mixed games.

Re: NL in the \"Big Game\" How does that work?
someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i was under the impression that the 100K cap was for one single bet.
so that i could bet 100K, and then the most you could raise was an additional 100K. however i could easily be wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time either. |

Re: NL in the \"Big Game\" How does that work?
Yes, you are mistaken. The $100k cap is on a single hand. This info is available on Barry Greenstein's website and in several of Daniel N's journal entries. I think most would revile at the thought of a $100k spread limit game (would it even be spread limit at that point?).
