I'm sure most video cards can support it. If you just plugged in your monitor, you might want to try restarting it and letting windows detect the new monitor. If you just swapped the monitors it might not work.

Are the drivers for the 2001FP installed? Chances are that Windows thinks it's a "default display" or a "plug 'n' play monitor" and doesn't realize you've bought 4-tabling goodness. Update monitor drivers; most display problems are caused by this.

Could you go right-click on My Computers -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters and tell us what's listed under there? [/ QUOTE ] it says "Intel(R) 828 10E Graphics Controller" |

Just uncheck that stupid assed "hide modes this monitor cannot display" and then go set it to 1600x1200. This setting is on the "monitor" tab on the popup you get if you click the "advanced" button next to where you set the resolution.

What Dell computer model are you using? Hopefully I can Google the model number and find the video card specs. |

Ok, apparently your system has old, crappy onboard graphics and you need to add in a PCI video card to get the resolutions you want.
http://www.short-media.com/forum/arc...hp/t-5928.html At that site they seem to recommend a either a Radeon 7000 or a Geforce MX flavor in PCI. Please remember when looking at video cards that AGP is dominant, not PCI so you do have to look, and PCI IS NOT, repeat NOT the same a PCI-X or "PCI Express" (neither would work in your computer). |
