question on vpip
quick question on vpip... it seems that most of the players here have vpip in the range of 25-30 or so...
mine is only 18% after.. 2000 hands or so... i know... small samples... but it seems a significant difference to me... i've been using http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...amp;PHPSESSID= for my starting hands... is this good?... if not.. where should i be looking to play more hands?... or should i just be fine w/ this low vpip anyways since i'm still not quite sure what i'm doing in shorthanded play post-flop... |

Re: question on vpip
i think your estimate that most are around 25-30 vpip is false. i try to keep mine around 22-23/12-14 pfr, and that might even be a little too loose depending on what level you're talking about.

Re: question on vpip
I think you're playing way too tight. My VPIP in SH games is right around 31%. Over 100,000 hands I'm at 2.5BB/100.
Loosen up son. |

Re: question on vpip
That chart doesn't have the SB or BB in it, and you'll see a lot of variation between players in how tight/loose they are. Rory will fold in the SB with just about any two cards . I, on the other hand, will just about play AnyTwoSooted.
Loose vs tight play from the blinds is good for at least 2-3% VP$IP. |

Re: question on vpip
If he's not filtering by # players-in-hand (e.g., this is 2-6 players), I can see doing just fine with a VP$IP of 31% in the 1/2 games. Not for SH newbies, admittedly.

Re: question on vpip
My VPIP is 19 after 3.5k hands. My PFR is 15.
I had a 15 VPIP with a 9 PFR at 3/6 full, which was also tighter than most, but not terrible. I am gonna have to use that starting hand chart to see if I can raise it. Edit: Just took a look at that chart. Reraise with AJ against a raise from any position? That's something I hadn't been doing. Much less the recommended reraises with KQ, AT, and other hands where specified. 6-max will be fun now. |

Re: question on vpip
Could someone explain to me, just what does vpip say. I know what it means, but not what it MEANS.
I have always used flop seen and when fold no fold and pfr... |
