1) He didn't die, otherwise it would have been mentioned on ESPN Page 2, which it isn't.
2) His real job is one of the founding editors of Page 2, so i'm guessing it would be tough for him to get fired. He's not like some of their writers who drift in for a couple of articles then never write again.
